On Losing Michael Jackson

Yesterday was a terrible loss to the world. We lost a legend, a pop icon and a man that moved us with his talent. Growing up, MJ was my idol. He is probably the reason why I got into music, and love singing so much. I remember as a kid performing dance routines to his music, when my parents had guests over. Basically, he had a huge impact on my life and the choices I made in my music.

What saddens me most are the children he left behind. What are they going to do? How do you deal with your father dying at such a young age? Being constantly reminded that your dad is no longer here. All the things you never shared, because you were too young to experience and people reminding you how wonderful he was, but didn't get a chance to see or feel.

My heart goes out to his kids today. I hope they are surrounded by people who truly love them. People that understand what they have to go through, and raise them the way MJ wanted.

Michael, you were there for all the children around the world guiding them with your music. Thank you for all your positive, caring, and exciting talent you brought to us for so many years. You will always be in my soul and a guiding light.
